Get cozy and let's reminisce about the good, the bad and the ugly.
Here's how it works.
1. Leave me a comment about a memory you have with me or Olen or the kids or all of us together. Break out the Ginkgo Biloba and start remembering the good times.
2. Then carry on the challenge and make this same post in your blog.
(If you feel like leaving a comment, but don't feel like having a Blogger account; just write the comment as "Anonymous" and add your name at the end. Everyone join in!)

This is the first one that popped into my head. When Molly was dating olen, no I think that they were engaged because he was coming into town from Flagstaff. Well anyways Molly was helping me branch out after I graduated from high school, so I went to a Singles Ward activity with her. She left right after it to meet up with Olen but encouraged me to stay behind and hang out with her friends, who were going bowling but I wasn't wearing any socks. So Molly being the best big sister took her own socks off and gave them to me so I could stay out and play. It didn’t t even gross me out that they were on her feet or anything, I was just thankful that I had such a cool big sis! She had always been such a great friend to me throughout the years
ReplyDeleteAlthough I love you now, I was a volatile child, and some of my memories of you and I when we were young were fights. One memory that popped into my head was when I once punched you in the eye right before you senior pictures. Another one was when I went to stay with you in Flagstaff and I called you the B word and Mom and Dad came to pick me up. I think enough years have passed by that we can laugh at these things.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all... I remember when that happened, Darcy. I remember hiding in the corner and not knowing what to say or do. Good times.
ReplyDeleteSo being the youngest of the "older girls" i always was looking up to you girls. I always loved when you would let me just sit in the room you and your friends were hanging our or watching a movie in. i felt cool even though no one even noticed me. the best, though, was when i was old enough to come into the "big girls'" room in the added on garage. I learned many life lessons in that room. One of which was to not be vain, but to always keep yourself up nicely, and to take care of yourself. Beauty takes pain. The end.
oh one more thing, I remember when Molly and Katie taught me about "mixtures".
ReplyDeleteKate, you've got my socks any day. Darcy I totally forgot about that night in Flagstaff. Ha! Yes. I can laugh about it now. Beth, now you're the one we hang out with! And thanks for not sharing all the life lessons learned in the girl dorm.
ReplyDeleteDarc, I have no idea what you're talking about...
ReplyDeleteI remember driving up to Flagstaff with Chris to pick you and Porter up for the the family Mexico trip (which I wasn't invited to!) Chris was growing a Gotee for me because he knew I liked facial hair and you said he had "facial pubs". Pretty funny!
ReplyDeleteAnd this just popped into my head. It was the first day of school, '98 I think, and you and Lisa hugged and she got lipstick on your shirt. Nothing spectacular about the thing but I remember it because you guys were super funny about it.
How's that for random memories?
Ahhhhh....playing roulette late into the night, shooing the kids back in to watch another movie so they wouldn't see their parents gambling away all their starbursts. ;) Time to do that again, wouldn't you say?
ReplyDeleteDarcy you shouldn't give away our secret code word!
ReplyDeleteKatie, I remember that lip stick because I had to m.c. the opening assembly that day.
ReplyDeleteMolly, it's far past time. Count us good for the starbursts. Word to "Shay-on!"
Oh this is the best idea ever. Let me think. Well I remember you had one of those American Girl books for Molly and you wouldn't let me read it because it was only for people named Molly. LOL! I also remember being a little jealous of your hundred million color marker set. I remember making sheet hammocks on the metal frame of the trampoline and looking in the clouds for cloud openings. I remember finding some sample sized perfumes in your garage and asking your mom if we could use it. I remember going into Victoria's Secret and buying those bath melty things because "they treated us like grown-ups." I remember liking your mom's chocolate chip cookies more than my mom's! ha! I remember watching Watcher in the Woods and being freaked out (and The Wizard of Oz). I also remember that I wanted to have bangs just like you did and trying to curl them just like you! LoL, thank goodness I failed--the eighties were not kind to any of us! And of course I remember cracking up on the way back from the Hill Cumorah pageant Molly Macadoo! I have the best memories of you, I could keep going!
ReplyDeleteHoly cow that is so funny that Jennifer remembered all those things! Whoever thought of the sheet hammocks was a genius!!!!!
ReplyDeletelong live sheet hammocks!!! mom always got mad because eventually they would rip from trying to fit everybody into one.
ReplyDeleteyou had to be sneaky so mom didn't see.
this kinda feel like molly is dead and we are sharing good times. i am glad you are not dead molly.
Jenn I totally remember all of those! Do you remember those buttery-salty potatoes they had at the Hill Cumorah pagent? I've tried twice to recreate those...they were so good. Remember when I got a tick on the trek?! Oh those were the times.
ReplyDeleteBeth, you better come up with better things to say about me when I'm dead.
Ok Molly I don't know if you will remember this, but I think I was a freshman and Me You Janice and Camille all decided to go to a haunted house together. We went to one called the Zone (I think?) or something like that and they practically molested us as we walked through that thing! I thought haunted houses weren't allowed to touch you, but in this one the people were all over us! Up and down my leg and I had shorts on! We all came out feeling so violated that we went over to your house afterwards to calm down. I later came to find out that haunted house got shut down because of all the sexual harrasment complaints!!! Wow what a memory.
ReplyDeleteI don't remember those potatoes, but from the sounds of it, I wish I did! I had forgotten about the tick on trek too! lol! I just remember that you had a great time on trek and I hated it (my dumb dysfunctional trek brothers mooning everyone and almost getting sent home!) I loved this game until Bethany commented that it's like you're dead and we're eulogizing things! But while I'm remembering things, I was remembering how your parents apple computer was the first one I had ever seen, how's that for random? :) Oh, and I remember that Bethany (or Darcy, I can't remember which) had a doll that was black and had a kerchief on her head. Do you remember that?? Yeah, I'm weird.
ReplyDeleteI REMEMBER THAT DOLL. it belonged to darcy. but it scared me.
ReplyDeleteYou're right, I should do this one on my blog. I just don't think that the people that read my blog really know me. Most of them are Tooele-ites and have only known me for a year. But it would be worth it just to hear your memories, so maybe I'll be doing it soon!
ReplyDeleteI remember that time you and Olen bought tickets for the biggest movie of the year at the IMAX and gave them to Chris and I because I was retarded and didn't order them right. That was really cool of you. Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteMy first memory was when you walked up to me at church and said that about my girls!
ReplyDeleteI thought you were so pretty and had a great spirit to go with it! Some of my favorite memories were just this last school year and I casually volunteering you to help in the class. We had some fun times. The camp out (hope to have more of those memories) Also, I remember going to your house to eat and Olen popped out his eye and rolled towards me....I has in shock!
DeAnne, I forgot that Olen did that! LOL! Good thing it was after we ate...right?
