Um, remember theses?
Photobucket
You do! Good. Now you are all apart of my... Flashback Friday!

My sewing machine is on fire creating these handy aprons for an upcoming boutique I'm participating in. It's time to order the cutesy tags to go with them and I have a major problem! What should I call these?!

Well, duh. They are aprons. But remember, they were once pillow cases and men's shirts, cloth napkins and women's handkerchiefs, boys jeans and little girl dresses. Plus a hip towel!
So I'm stumped as to which name or combination of names to choose.

So, here's the deal: Leave me a message about what to name my own little pillow-case-hankie-shirt-towel-aprons and the winning name will receive their very own pillow-case-hankie-shirt-towel apron! Out of state? No worries, I know where the post office is.

OK. Sit back down and collect yourself. Now get those creative juices flowing and be a winner! Hooray for you!

A big thanks! in advance. I know I've got such clever Homies, and I can't wait to get started on your apron!

Deadline: Next Friday - February 27th (That's Mamasita Bonita's "magic" birthday. She's 29, ya know.)

FURTHER UPDATE: There are no restrictions to the name suggestions. So bring it. Yeah!
Also - I am loving them all; so I've asked my Mamasita Bonita to do the selecting. When it comes to being crafty, she's pretty much where the buck stops for me. So I know she'll choose wisely. It will be random and anonymous and pending my final approval. Keep 'em coming!!

  4. Hey Molly, you don't know me, but yeah, I pretty much am a "blog stalker" here. Just kidding, I grew up with the Reynolds, so I'm not THAT wierd. But I love these little aprons, here are some of my ideas:
    hip aprons
    totally hip aprons
    aprons for my homies
    hip aprons for my homies
    (you get the idea)
    my everything apron

Good luck. BTW, I watched your love story video the other day and I LOVED it! I think you are a great girl and I'm so happy that Olen has someone wonderful like you! He deserves it. :)

Oh yeah, and my blog is private so if you wanna shoot me an email it's cjsthayer at gmail dot com.

  7. Love 'em all! So cute; and how awesome for you to be able to sell them!! It's an awesome feeling seeing someone enjoy something you made yourself!

As for a name....is there a certain homemaker you admire? Or someone you knew that always had an apron on? Maybe your grandma or mom's name thrown in it somehow....or is there some kind of fancy term for 'apron', like an old-fashioned word? Sorry, nothing definite here, but hopefully helpful somehow. ;) Let me know what your asking price is, too...my mom and a friend have both asked about them. ;)

  8. 'Her Strings'or something close to that. I was also thinking something along the lines of treat maker... I'm still working on it. I really liked Molly's suggestion though.

  9. I love a good word contest. I'll probably be making several entries because I'm a nerd like that. Hmm, how about Practically Perfect Pinafores? Molly's Memorable's? Ok...I'm just getting warmed up. What sort of feel are you going for with the name? Chic? Country? Using your name? We need some guidelines! :)

  10. Or building off of Katie's suggestions, you could always go with "Heart Strings" instead of Her Strings. Or go with a play off of the old saying "cut the apron strings." Not sure what yet...Cute up the apron strings?? Um...I'm still working on it.

  13. Okay I'm back. I haven't had any other major revelations, but I thought of two more ideas because by golly I want to win! I thought of something without the actual word apron in it. How about plain old Sassy Cute? That's what I thought of when I saw the aprons. Or my other idea is that you could always take the name of my etsy shop because I'm not going to do it anymore, aka Vintage Maude. Or Molly by Golly. I just thought of that last one because I just used by golly earlier in this very comment and realized it rhymed and I can't resist a rhyme. I'm a nerd. Love ya!

  14. Take off the clothes underneath and call 'em lingerie!

  15. How about, "Chic Re-creation".
    "Chic's Armor"
    "Look of a Lady"

  16. You can add the word Apron after all of them too. I think Domestic Bliss Aprons sounds better.

  17. Okay maybe I should officially do this. Maybe Molly won't make me the winner if I don't put it on her blog. Can't give her any excuses not to. Here are the winning entries (pick one):

    Mopron
    Maypron

    I win!

  21. "Reynolds Wraps"
This one made me laugh! Or you can take off the S and just use "Reynolds Wrap" but that might be copyrighted.

  22. I thought B-Pron or even B3PRON (with a 3 instead of an E). Beautiful - Barefoot - Babe. Mostly 'cause my husband always teases that he likes his woman Barefoot and in the Kitchen :) Oh and 'cause the name A-pron is already taken :)

  23. Or you could spell it Beepron with a cute bee in the logo for the Busy Bees who will be wearing them :)
